Summer Holiday Pottery Club for Children.

This club will start on Thursday 5th August 2010. The club will run every Thursday through the school summer holidays

Time 11am - 1 pm.  Cost £7.50 an hour. The club will focus on different projects each week from making bowls using natural body shapes e.g. Impressing clay over knees/elbows thorough to group projects such as building a sculpture  or fairytale castle building with characters. The aim of the club is to provide a creative environment where children can build socials skills and learn to work together whilst having fun. Parents are welcome to join their children in their clay play or relax in the garden with tea/coffee/elderflower refresher drinks. Picnic space is available in the garden if you wish to bring a picnic lunch for after the club.

Glazing Workshops.

We will be running several glazing workshops for those wishing to learn about glazing. Students will be able to glaze masterpieces they have made on our courses/classes. Those wishing to bring along work they have made else where  that they wish to decorate  are also welcome.  Workshops will be a mixture of demonstrations, practical, theory and student focused discussions. Students are encourage to take an active role in workshops to maximise their learning by asking questions and engaging with the tutor and trying new techniques.

Two Day Pottery Courses

In order to introduce people to the full throwing and making process on the wheel we will be running various two day courses. The aim of such days is to help students master the basic throwing skills and hopefully complete  the green ware stage making process e.g. Adding handles, lids, spouts etc.  For full details and an outline of the course content please see our weekend courses page.

Next two day course 18th/19th September 2010.

Bed and breakfast accommodation is available to those wishing to stay with us as part of their course at a cost of £35 per person per night.
